Our Programs
-
Infant Care
At Luminaries Academy, our Infant Care program provides a safe, soothing environment where your baby is gently supported through every developmental stage. With personalized attention and consistent routines, our nurturing staff fosters security and trust through warm interactions and responsive care—laying the foundation for lifelong learning and emotional well-being.
-
Young Toddlers (12–24 Months)
In our Young Toddler program, little ones are on the move—gaining confidence, language, and independence. At Luminaries Academy, we nurture these first steps into the wider world with responsive caregiving and purposeful play that fosters emerging social awareness, early communication, and motor development. Our routines promote exploration, connection, and a sense of belonging.
-
Emerging Learners (24–36 Months)
Our Emerging Learners program builds upon the secure foundations of infancy and early toddlerhood, offering a bridge toward more structured learning. This stage emphasizes pre-social skills, emotional understanding, and cooperative play. Through guided group activities, storytelling, and sensory-rich learning experiences, we help each child grow cognitively while developing essential interpersonal skills.
-
Programs for Children Showing Advanced Early Learning
For children who demonstrate accelerated development in areas such as language, problem-solving, or social engagement, we offer enrichment opportunities tailored to their pace of learning. While formal identification of giftedness is not developmentally appropriate before age 5, our educators use observational tools, milestone tracking, and play-based documentation to identify areas of strength and provide stimulating, responsive learning environments that foster deeper curiosity and exploration.
-
Programs for Children Benefitting from Early Support
We provide screening to identify children who benefit from additional developmental support which lead to the creation of personalized supports. These include:
Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Third Edition (ASQ 3) – A caregiver-completed tool that tracks communication, motor, problem-solving, and social-emotional milestones.
Denver Developmental Screening Test II (Denver II) – A professional-administered observational tool measuring motor, language, social, and adaptive development.
Healthy Families Parenting Inventory (HFPI) – A caregiver-focused tool identifying areas of needed support for the home environment. -
Additional At-Risk Assessment
Social-Emotional & Pre-Social Skill Assessments tailored to gauge social readiness and self-regulation.
Use of standardized tools including the CARS (Childhood Autism Rating Scale) and GARS (Gilliam Autism Rating Scale) for early autism spectrum indicators
Age appropriate Social Skills Development Assessment -
Art and Sensory Exploration
Art and Sensory Exploration encourage young learners to create, explore, and express freely. Using open-ended materials, textures, and colors, we foster creativity, fine motor development, and sensory awareness—encouraging each child to engage their senses and imagination in meaningful, joyful ways.
-
Tortoise Habitat
Our tortoise habitat exposes your child to a peaceful, hands-on connection to nature and animal care. Designed to be safe, enriching, and interactive, it allows little learners to observe gentle creatures up close, sparking curiosity, encouraging empathy and introduction of daily care routines.

Nevada Early Intervention (EI) Services
What is Early Intervention?
Early Intervention is a state-funded, voluntary program available to all Nevada families. It supports children from birth to age three who have developmental delays or disabilities. Services are home-based, family-centered, and use a play-based approach to help children reach developmental milestones. Families are coached on how to build learning into everyday routines.
Areas of Development Supported
Why it Matters
The first three years are critical for brain development. Early support can reduce long-term delays, build independence, and connect families to needed services and resources.
Eligibility
A free evaluation will measure your child’s development. Children qualify if they have:
• A 50% delay in one area,
• A 25% delay in two areas, or
• A medical condition strongly linked to developmental delays.
Example: a 24-month-old with the communication skills of a 12-month-old would qualify.
Services May Include
Services are free to families. Insurance may be billed, but you will not pay co-pays or out-of-pocket costs.
